Alltel Corp. said its customers can now use Alltel laptop cards to access CDMA EV-DO coverage in major metropolitan areas through the carrier’s roaming agreements.

Alltel said the roaming agreement runs through Sprint Nextel Corp.’s network.

The broadband wireless roaming includes major markets such as Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. Alltel expanded its own EV-DO coverage to more than half of its markets in 2006 and says it plans to aggressively expand its EV-DO network in 2007.
